Beach Throwball Association of Uttar Pradesh
Beach Throwball is a modern and innovative evolution of the traditional sport of Throwball, which has long been popular in India. With a strong foundation rooted in decades of play, the idea emerged to transform the game into a more dynamic, adventurous, and visually engaging format that could be played on natural surfaces such as beaches and river fronts.
This vision led to the creation of a sport that combines athletic skill with the excitement of outdoor environments, making it appealing to both players and spectators.
In 2022, Beach Throwball was conceptualized through the collective vision of two key figures associated with Throwball — Sanjeev Kumar and Gautam Singh. To give this new format a structured and official identity, the Beach Throwball Federation of India was established in the same year.
Adapting Throwball to sandy and uneven surfaces required significant innovation in terms of rules and gameplay. This task was undertaken by Srikant Das Gupta, Rahul Anil Kumar Vani, and Kailash Kumar, who standardized the rules and regulations of the sport.
Their efforts ensured that Beach Throwball evolved into a well-structured, competitive, and globally adaptable sport.
Today, India stands as a global leader in the development and promotion of Beach Throwball. From conceptualization and governance to rule-making and international outreach, India has been at the forefront of every stage. With the rising popularity of beach sports worldwide, Beach Throwball is rapidly emerging as a global sport, and India continues to lead its journey toward international recognition and growth.
